Support the Collective

The Hokey Pokey Collective uses a free, donation-based, & pay-what-feels-accessible model of care because access to supportive care should not depend entirely on someone’s ability to pay.

We believe this helps reduce barriers to supportive care.

There is no required donation to receive AcuDetox.

Contributions help sustain The Hokey Pokey Collective & make community care accessible to more people, but giving is never a condition of receiving.

Help Keep Care Accessible

Contributions can be made via Venmo or Zelle.

Zelle: @HokeyPokeyCollective

Your ability to contribute financially does not determine your worthiness of care, your access to it, or the quality of care you receive.

Whether you contribute $0, $40, or anything in between, you will be welcomed with the same compassion, respect, dignity, & attention. Every participant deserves a safe, supportive space to rest, receive care, & feel supported without judgment, financial pressure, or the need to explain their circumstances.

If you have the means to contribute, your generosity helps extend care to others. If you don't, you're equally welcome. There is no expectation to give now or repay that kindness later.

Care comes first.
Contribution is optional.

Suggested Contributions

$0 — Receive Care

If contributing financially is not accessible to you, you are equally welcome to receive care at no cost. No explanation, proof of need, or disclosure of your circumstances is required.

We recognize that financial circumstances vary, priorities shift, & even a small contribution may mean sacrificing something essential. No one should have to choose between receiving support & meeting their basic needs.

Receiving care without contributing financially does not create a debt, obligation, or expectation to give in the future. You deserve the same quality of care, compassion, dignity, & attention as every other participant.

Your presence is enough. You belong here.

$1 — Needles Forward

You don't have to give a lot to make a difference.

The needles for one AcuDetox treatment cost $0.50.

A $1 contribution covers that cost for your session & helps provide needles for someone else's.

Every contribution is an opportunity to participate in a community where people support one another according to their means.

What feels small to one person can make a difference for another.

$15 — Supports the Hour

Care should be accessible to receive & sustainable to provide.

Every community AcuDetox clinic depends on trained practitioners, thoughtful preparation, essential supplies, & the time and attention required to create a safe, welcoming experience.

Your $15 contribution helps offset practitioner time, sterile needles, sanitation supplies, sharps disposal, clinic setup, & the coordination necessary to make each session possible.

By supporting both the people providing care & the resources behind it, you help sustain a model that respects practitioners' labor while keeping financial barriers low for participants.

When we support the people behind care, we help ensure care can continue.

$25 — Sustains the Clinic

The care you experience is made possible by work you may never see.

Long before the first participant takes a seat, there are relationships to build, venues to coordinate, supplies to prepare, & countless details to organize.

Your $25 contribution helps sustain the essential infrastructure behind accessible community care, including:

  • Practitioner Time & Supplies: Preparation, treatment, sterile needles, sanitation, & safe disposal.

  • Transportation & Logistics: Equipment, travel, setup, breakdown, & event coordination.

  • Insurance & Education: Liability coverage, practitioner training, continuing education, & safety practices.

  • Community Outreach: Venue partnerships, collaborations, & connecting people with accessible care.

  • Digital Tools & Administration: Website maintenance, registration, consent forms, scheduling, & communications.

By supporting these often-unseen responsibilities, you help reduce the financial burden of providing free & sliding-scale care while making consistent, responsible clinics possible.

Your contribution helps sustain everything that makes it possible.

$40+ — Pay It Forward

When we have the capacity to give more, we have the opportunity to extend care further.

Your $40+ contribution helps offset the cost of providing AcuDetox to participants who cannot contribute financially, while strengthening the resources needed to bring care into more community spaces.

Your support helps make possible:

  • Accessible Care: Future free & sliding-scale clinics, including opportunities for people facing financial barriers.

  • Community Connections: Outreach, educational materials, & partnerships that introduce more people to AcuDetox.

  • Sustainable Growth: Practitioner development, digital infrastructure, & the ongoing resources needed to expand responsibly.

Paying it forward reflects a shared commitment to a community where giving is based on capacity & receiving is based on choice, not financial means.

Why Pay-What-Feels-Accessible?

Give What You Can. Receive What You Need.

Because access to care shouldn't depend on the ability to pay.

A fixed price creates a straightforward exchange: a service for a payment.

A community-supported model invites something more meaningful: What can each of us contribute to help make care accessible for everyone?

For some, that may mean receiving care at no cost. For others, it may be $1, $15, or enough to help support another person's session.

The goal isn't for everyone to contribute equally. It's for everyone to have an equal opportunity to receive care, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Your contribution does not determine your worthiness of care or the quality of care you receive.

Someone contributing $0 receives no less. Someone contributing $40 receives no more.

The needles are the same.
The practitioner attention is the same.
The opportunity to rest is the same.
The dignity, respect, & compassion are the same.

Our capacity to give may change throughout our lives. Sometimes we have more to share. Sometimes we need support ourselves. Both are equally welcome.

What you contribute helps determine what the Collective can sustain, never what you deserve to receive.
